David M. Neikrug, Chief Executive Officer
David Neikrug's 20 years of experience in employee benefits and human capital management made him well positioned to understand all sides of the health care benefits "table", and to bring cost control to a new level. As a result, he developed a turnkey vendor management solution for helping employers control health care costs by holding vendors more accountable - and Optimatum was born.
The foundation of his expertise is in strategy, program and plan design, implementation and long-term maintenance, with a specific concentration in benefits cost reduction and operations improvement. He designed and implemented hundreds of benefit programs for various types of organizations including private, family-owned, public and non-profit entities. As part of that experience, he worked closely with countless vendors, including carriers and service providers.
Neikrug saw first hand that employers were struggling to handle the rising costs of healthcare. They were forced to manage those costs by shifting employee benefits and implementing programs that led to less than desirable results. He found another way. By implementing stronger accountability with employer's current vendors, employers could save 10 to 12% in the first year, and 5 to 7 % annually. These solutions came without changing vendors or the level of employee benefits.
